But he's not at the same time (if you follow what I mean)
It was six of one, half a dozen of the other, it could be just as easily a penalty as it was a freekick, just so happened that the ref saw it in favour of Slovenia.
RE: England V Alegeria
How does Heskey get a game? Genuinely, I would be pissed off if he played for Scotland. Poor game from England, no spark and drive, needed a left sided midfielder......shame he left Ashely Young back home.
No offence, but if we where take a look at a corner defended by the USA, we would see the same thing. Every team does it, it's how you defend by getting 'touchtight'
It's six of one, half dozen of the other. The number 15 for the USA is fouling just as much as the one who as got his arms wrapped around the player.
Makes sense, for the record myself and the little brother arrive in Abergavveny at 17:01 and we're cool to wait if it saves someone making the trip out.
@ Jason - Will get the money transferred tonight for both myself and Keith.
Suarez flicked the ball past the keeper who then brought him down....while it could be argued that the player was not getting the ball after that, we can't be sure as the keeper brought him down.
Since the last control of the ball was with Suarez and if he made it past the keeper without getting hit, then he had a reasonable goalscoring opportunity which was denied.
I understand where you're coming from DD, and to a certain extent I agree. To the fans point of view that seems harsh, however the laws of the game are such that there can be no grey area for the refs. If these factors happened then the only choice left for the ref is to send the offending player off, common sense referring is to inconsistent to be used so now FIFA are removing any “judgement calls” out of the hands of the refs and trying to make the rules as black and white as possible....the only problem is that football is never that easy.
Say the striker is running away from the goal out of the box (assume then that the striker is Scottish) and towards the corner flag, if the last man back was to bring him down then under the lawas of the game it's a yellow card and not a red, he's not in a goal scoring postion.
Likewise if a defender was to foul a player at the edge of the box as the striker was winding up to take a shot, even with the keeper and another defender in there it should be a red card for the tackling player.
It's one of these myths that have come up with fans automatical assuming that the last man means an instant red card...not always the case.
The keeper would still have been sent off, stopping a goalscoring chance is a red card offence regardless of whether the player tripped had done a full twist while going down.
Considering I've had first hand of hearing those bloody horns at a match, I think I'm entitled to complain about them.
There was a group of kids who bought them on Ebay a while back in time for our cup replay with Hibs, and although on that moment they where ok then, it was only used on few occasions and the whole crowd (6,000 odd in a small stadium) where noisy enough to drown them out.
However there was on guy who thought that these would be good to constantly blow them throughout an entire midweek league game when there was less than 1000 at the game. The constant buzzing only yards away from where I stood was beyond a joke.
So I'm not looking to ban them because their different, or because it's not done on the European content (or for any other reason you like to throw at me) it's because I have suffered at the hands of the vuvu, and experienced in a game environment.
BTW for those who dislike the vuvu's more than the Scots dislike Jimmy Hill, the bbc are looking to have the red button audio minus the vuvu's, alternatively listen to the game on the Radio 5 live.
The only way I can see the Germans conceeding is through a set piece by the Aussies. German employ zonal marking and if one person switches off, then there is a very good chance to conceding a goal, espicially with Tim Chaill in the other side.
However I can see the Germans winning here by about 3 or 4 clear goals here.
Nope, your wrong, soccer is never acceptable regardless of the orgin of the speaker. It would be like describing a Ferrari as a LADA becuase they happen to both have 4 wheels.
The sport is governed by FIFA, which stands for "Fédération Internationale de Football Association", I've highlighted the key word there.
This is the FIFA world cup, not the sodding FISA world cup, if your watching the FISA world cup then your watching rowing.
In other news, I really hope this happens those bloody horns detract from the game, normally I mute it due to the commentators talking pish, but now I'm muting it straight away due to those horns.
Why are people putting weight behind the Confederations Cup, it's like saying a certain driver is better than another because they beat them at Mario Karts...
USA have had more of the ball in the first half than England, however when England get forward the look a bit more clinical than USA.
RE: Robert Green. This is way a keeper can't make a mistake. 1 mistake will 9 times out of 10 result in conceding a goal...a midfield player can get away with making countless mistakes without to much damage.
The big qustion should be why has the English defence constantly stood off the USA players in the final 1/3?????
